Triund Trek From Delhi with Mcleodganj Sightseeing


Triund is Located 9 km from Mcleodganj.From Dharamshala it is 17 km.It is a really popular trek among Delhi trekkers.From Delhi this trek is so easy to plan.The total distance of this trek is 9 to 10 km.One can finish this trek in just 4 to 5 hours.Triund is a most scenic trekking destination in Himachal.This tail goes through amazing deodar,rhododendron forests.The beautiful Dhauladhar range will give you to explore the alpine flora and fauna.You can easily complete this trek in your weekend.While doing this trek you need to follow the guideline given by your tour guide.While you are trekking then it is mandatory to respect the local culture.You need to ask the  people before taking their photograph because many of them don’t want their photos taken.So you need to careful and respect their wishes.

 Winter season :

In the winter season the temperature can be 15 to 18 degrees at day time and at night. It can drop 2 to 5 degrees. In the month of summer the day temperature can be 15 to 25 degrees. At night it can be 8 to 10 degrees. The temperature will vary depending on the season you are going to this trek.


You can also stay at Mcleodganj. This is one of the best weekend destinations from Delhi. It is situated at an altitude of 2250 metres above the sea level. This is a small town which is 3 km from Dharamshala. Here you can get a chance to see the real lifestyle of Tibetan Buddhists. This is the main reason that why this place is called the “little Lhasa”. In the year of 1960 the 14th Dalai Lama, Lama Tenzin Gyatso came here from the Tibet. You can also visit in the St. John’s Church. This church is a 18th century church that is famous for its Neo-Gothic architecture. People also can trek to the falls like Bhagsunag. Take a tour of Kangra Valley tea garden.

How to Reach At Triund:

Delhi to Mcleodganj is 500 km which takes 10 to 12 hours to complete.

Railway Station: The closest railway station is Pathankot railway station.This is 85 km from Dharamshala.From Pathankot you can take or book a bus or can hire a taxi.

Airport:The closest airport is Gaggal airport.It  is also known as Kangra airport.From the airport one can book a taxi.It takes  45 minutes to reach McleodGanj which is located about 20 km.

How to Reach At Mcleodganj:

By Train:There is no direct railway connectivity from Delhi to McLeod Ganj. The closest railway station is Pathankot. It is 90 kilometers from here. From Pathankot one can book a taxi to McLeod Ganj.

By Flight:The closest airport is  Dharamshala-Kangra airport which is 20 kilometres from Mcleodganj.It takes  3 hours to reach Mcleodganj to Delhi by flight.

Norbulingka Monastery:In this monastery you can see many Buddhist monks.An amazing garden will soak your eyes here.

Lahesh Cave: While doing the Triund trek you can also explore this cave.The distance between Laka glacier to Triund is just  2 km.Here you can find this cave.You can camp here overnight and it will be fun.

Dalai Lama Complex: This complex is a perfect peaceful place for people who love peace.It has a cafe,an amazing library and a museum.Here you can taste a new culture that will give you inner  peace.

  1. A  pair of good trekking shoes and backpack: During trekking you need to cover a long distance through walking. you should choose a pair of good and comfortable trekking shoes. Trekking on the rocky boulder part can be very slippery so you need to choose your shoes carefully. Also you need a good backpack with rain over.
